Obvious Bias - is this what constitutes an Ivy League "professor" these days?!

The author Thomas Patterson, a guy who works at Harvard, shows obvious bias in his writing.

While the book claims: "This text will not try to tell you what to think politically. There is no correct way of thinking when it comes to the “what” of politics. People differ in their political values and interests and, thus, also differ in their political opinions. Instead, this text will help you learn how to think" , he violates this dictum starting in the first chapter. He consistently characterizes unequal outcomes as evidence of unequal opportunities.

Another deconstructionist masquerading as a steward of free thought. It seems to me the Ivy Leagues are not worth the investment these days. I wonder how long it will take for the rest of the world to catch on. Probably not long.

I am disappointed that I had to order and read this bias garbage. The very first page was disgraceful right from start. I almost had a melt down reading the garbage spewing off the pages. I only learned general knowledge from the book because the rest I didn''t take the time to absorb. A bunch of proganda and programing for people just wanting to take a government class. I got your critical thinking right here Thomas Patterson.
The shipping and everything else was perfect. I was very pleased but the book the only thing I liked about it was the size. God help us because of this garbage attempting to educate our college students.

The fact that the endnotes in this Kindle ebook are not linked from the text is unforgivable. To view his sources, one has to jump manually to the Notes section and scroll to find the citation you want, rather than rolling over (or clicking on) the number to see the reference. This is a non-fiction textbook that synthesizes and builds on thousands of secondary and primary sources, all of which are relevant and essential for any critical reading.

It''s bad enough that Kindle versions are often nearly as expensive as a physical copy, but when the publisher fails to do basic optimization for e-readers is reason to boycott their products. Sloppy, inadequate, and irresponsible.

Author says that authoritarian = tyranny, and that Sweden is a socialist country. Very very ignorant and misleading to students who are not already informed on the topic.

The book is fine - I wasn''t expecting to get an "instructors review copy-not for sale". Impossible to remove the sticker from the book, so I''m "stuck" with it! Packaging very difficult to get off, tho book arrived in great shape.

This is an excellent book that every woman should read, especially young girls. Too often we feel trapped by our family histories and societal expectations. Laurie Morin helps us understand and reflect on male and female archetypes and how to view them in order to improve our own lives. I appreciate the exercises at the end of each chapter.

I highly recommend this book.
